Connecting to Host Computer via SSH

This document is only applicable to FLY host computers
If compiling or flashing firmware, please refer to the network connection tutorial instead of the serial connection tutorial

You can connect to the device via serial port or Wi-Fi
Please prepare MobaXterm_Personal or other SSH terminal tools in advance
Ensure that the SD card or M2WE has the corresponding host computer system flashed
If the host computer fails to start normally, remove drivers, limit switches, fans, and other peripherals!!!
Finally, connect via network to SSH for easier firmware compilation!!
To compile firmware, please refer to the tutorial for connecting the host computer via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable

Installing the System Storage Card

Ensure the system card has the corresponding system flashed; otherwise, it will not boot

Installing the Antenna

Install the antenna for the M2WE or 2.4G WiFi module

warning

The FLY host computer requires an M2WE or 2.4G WiFi module; otherwise, Wi-Fi cannot be used
Note: The host computer does not support Wi-Fi with Chinese names or dual-band (2.4G and 5G) combined Wi-Fi

The location indicated by the red arrow is the Wi-Fi antenna interface
The Wi-Fi antenna port is ipex1
Install the antenna onto the M2WE; otherwise, poor signal may prevent connection to the router

Power Supply

Connect the FLY host computer to the computer using a USB Type-C cable
Ensure the USB Type-C cable supports data transfer!
After the system boots, the indicator light will flash rapidly!!
Flashing indicates the system has started

Connect to Host Computer SSH via Serial Port Using Webpage

After connecting the host computer to the computer via USB, click Device Connection below.
If normal, USB Serial or other similar devices will be displayed.
Select the corresponding device, then click Connect.
A prompt will appear upon successful connection.
FlyOS-FAST default username is root, default password is mellow.
Starting from version V1.3.2, the FAST system uses serial connection with double-click or pressing Enter twice for automatic login.
After pressing Enter, the following content will appear:

The appearance of the interface below indicates successful login.
The FAST system updated the style below after version V1.3.0.

Connect to Host Computer SSH via Serial Port

If the host computer is properly connected to the computer, open Device Manager to see the CH340 port.

Open MobaXterm and set up as follows, selecting the port seen earlier in Device Manager.

Please note that Speed(bps)* must be set to 115200.

If everything is normal, the startup screen will appear.
Wait a moment; this screen indicates startup.

If after several minutes, the interface shows nothing like the image below, press Enter a few times.

Starting from version V1.3.2, the FAST system uses serial connection with double-click or pressing Enter twice for automatic login.
After pressing Enter, the following content will appear:

To view the device IP, ensure it is fully connected via Ethernet cable or properly connected to WiFi. Connect to WiFi

Connect to Host Computer SSH via Network IP

Please log in to the router backend that the host computer is connected to, unless you know the host computer's IP address.
Please ensure you know the host computer's username and password.
FlyOS-FAST default username is root, default password is mellow.
If the motherboard has started and is connected to the network, you can use the following method to connect to SSH.
Open MobaXterm and set up as follows, filling in the IP address viewed earlier or checking it in the router backend.

Note: In step 4 here, enter the host computer's username.

The first time connecting will pop up this window; click Accept.

It will prompt for a password; enter the host computer's password and press Enter.

Note: The password entered here is not visible; just press Enter after typing.

For the FLY-FAST system, the username is: root, and the password is: mellow.
