Heater Tolerance Configuration

Feature Description

verify_heater is used to adjust Klipper's safety detection thresholds for heaters. It is not a configuration for increasing heating power, but rather for handling false positives caused by slow heating, high thermal inertia, or significant temperature fluctuations.

Safety Reminder
  • Do not blindly relax detection thresholds to bypass actual faults.
  • If the heater fails to reach temperature, prioritize checking the heating element, heated bed, MOS tube, power supply, power rating, thermistor wiring, and thermistor model.
  • After modification, observe a full heating cycle in person to confirm normal temperature changes.

Parameter Description

Suitable Adjustment Scenarios

  • Large heated beds heat up slowly; hardware is confirmed normal but intermittent Heater heater_bed not heating at expected rate occurs
  • High-temperature hotend fluctuates near target temperature; PID is calibrated but occasional false positives still occur
  • Chamber temperature changes slow down the heating curve of the bed or hotend
  • Thermistor temperature reads negative numbers, hundreds of degrees, or shows obvious jumps
  • Heater temperature does not change at all after being turned on
  • MOS tube, wiring terminals, or power supply show signs of heat, discoloration, or odor
  • Configured sensor_type does not match the actual thermistor model

Debugging Suggestions

  1. First, perform PID calibration and save the configuration.
  2. Observe a full heating cycle starting from a cold state.
  3. Only add [verify_heater] for the heater that triggers false positives; avoid modifying multiple heaters at once.
  4. Modify only one parameter at a time and record performance before and after the change.
