Introduction

LLL Buffer Usage

The LLL Filament Buffer is a device designed for remote filament feeding in 3D printers, aiming to simplify the loading and unloading of consumables. This buffer is equipped with two buttons for feeding and retracting, allowing users to perform electric feeding and retraction operations.

Buffer Function:

Note
  • The N20 motor has a lifespan of approximately 200 hours.
  • The motor needs to be replaced when it fails to operate.

When the 3D printer's extruder feeds filament, if it pulls on the remote filament spool, the buffer detects this action and automatically feeds a length of filament toward the hot end. Each time a pull occurs, the buffer repeats this feeding operation. This effectively reduces the pulling force exerted by the extruder on the filament, maintains stable thrust from the extruder, and thereby improves the stability of print quality.

Filament Runout Detection Function:

The buffer has a built-in filament runout detector. When it detects that there is no filament in the buffer, it sends a signal to the 3D printer to pause printing. To use this function, you need to connect the signal pin and modify the 3D printer's configuration. The buffer function, however, can be used directly without any configuration changes.

Through the above functional design, the LLL Filament Buffer not only simplifies filament handling but also enhances the stability of the 3D printing process and print quality.

  • Please note that the functions can only be used after the filament is inserted; otherwise, you can only control the motor operation via the buttons.
