LLL Buffer Usage

The LLL filament buffer is a device designed for remote filament feeding of 3D printers, aimed at simplifying the loading and unloading of filament. This buffer is equipped with two buttons for feeding and retracting, allowing users to perform motorized filament feeding and retraction operations.

When the extruder of the 3D printer pulls filament and if this pulling affects the distant filament spool, the buffer detects this action and automatically feeds a section of filament toward the hotend. Each time pulling occurs, the buffer repeats this filament feeding operation. This effectively reduces the strain on the filament from the extruder, maintaining stable extruder thrust, thereby improving print quality stability.

Filament Runout Detection Function:

The buffer has a built-in filament runout detector. When it detects no filament inside the buffer, it sends a signal to the 3D printer to pause printing. To use this function, the signal pins need to be connected and the 3D printer's configuration modified. The buffer function can be used directly without requiring any configuration changes.

Through these functional designs, the LLL filament buffer not only simplifies filament handling but also enhances the stability and quality of the 3D printing process.

  • Please note that the functions can only be used after inserting the filament. Otherwise, you can only control the motor operation via the buttons.
